Good point. He has talent, but I wonder why Green Bay didn't re-sign him, and why Detroit, who just recently signed him, has now cut him?

NEVER MIND on the Minnesota signing, that was last Spring

Datone Jones signs deal with Vikings
Tom Silverstein, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Updated 5:32 p.m. CT March 14, 2017

GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers keep losing players, but at least they're piling up credit for compensatory draft picks.

Add outside linebacker Datone Jones to the list of Packers grabbing a ticket out of town.

A source said he signed a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings that NFL Network's Mike Garofolo reported was worth $3.5 million and could reach up to $5 million based on incentives.

Now I see...M-E-D-I-O-C-R-E

7 starts in 4 years. 9 sacks.

Yes, the Vikings signed him in the off season. They released him in September with a shoulder injury. He signed with Detroit last week and then got summarily released. with him being released with an injury (settlement I assume) and then released so quickly from Detroit, I'd be concerned that he's either not in football shape or still has lingering issues with his injury. Either way it wouldn't hurt to bring him in for a look, but with due diligence.

The Vikings released him with an injury settlement. Detroit outright cut him.

No need to bring him in. If he had any talent whatsoever, we would have tried to resign him. He gets injured easily, misses assignments and never really produces. Waste of time and a plane ticket.
