  • That really sucks...especially for it to be a non-contact play in a practice situation. I know it's not confirmed yet, so there's still hope that it's not as severe as they believe, but whether it is or not, I hope he recovers quickly. I like to watch talented players play the game. When guys like Watt and Luck or Avril or now Watson have season ending injuries like this, it takes a lot away from the game.

    Seems to be confirmed...

An MRI on the knee confirmed the full extent of the injury, Rapoport reported. He suffered the injury on a non-contact play, Rapoport added. He faces an 8-9 month rehabilitation and should be back in time for the start of the 2018 season.

I was just thinking at work today that I really liked this kid and I might just have to buy his Jersey. I can't help but feel it's my fault :-(

  • Awful, awful injury.

I can't believe the Texans are signing Matt flippin McGloin!! It better be an emergency signing before they bring in Kaep. I can't think of anyone available who can run the new offense BoB designed for Watson better than Kaep. Season's probably still over for them but shoot, sign Kaep and just try to go off.

He effectively ended his NFL career with that collusion suit and Houston would be among the least likely NFL team to sign him.

We won't play them again until 2021. Non-conference play rotates by division every year. We get the AFC West next year, the AFC North in 2019, the AFC East in 2020, and the AFC South in 2021, and it will cycle over and over.

No, but if I like a player enough I'll buy his Jersey. I've bought a few non Hawks Jerseys in the past, coincidentally one of them was Dwight Freeney.

  • Man that sucks for him and Texans fans. Watson has a bright future in the NFL, but not finishing his rookie year out is going to stunt his growth as an NFL QB for a couple of years. I was looking forward to seeing play, he seemed to have all the talent and intangibles to be great. I've seen some people on other boards trying to compare him to RG3, and I think that is not a good comparison. Watson is so much more than just a running QB as RG3 was in his rookie year.

He is a taller version of RW.

  • Some are hinting that the ACL issue was a result of last weeks Texans loss at Seattle.
Seems his legs got penned down under Bennett and Coleman. I guess it's a stretch but, we all tend to look for things that happen.

  • Shame. My type of QB. Russ, Rodgers, Dak, Watson, Wentz, Mariota.

The guys that can move, but also keep their eyes downfield when scrambling, while staying poised.

If I were a GM these would be the only type of QBs I would have on my roster anything else seems archaic & outdated. Whether it be the statue pocket guys, or the guys that can just run, but happen to play the QB position, or lack poise.

I was going to make a post about Watson earlier in the week, but I knew if I made it I would have come off as a hater so I refrained.

I think Watson is the perfect QB, barring two flaws. 1) Interceptions. That's fixable, given time they will come down. 2) Thin frame. Unfortunately not fixable. Like RG III, and Bridgewater before him. He is not built like an NFL football player, and I worried that he would be an injury prone guy.

While everyone was ready to crown him the future GOAT. I was going to make a post about wanting to see him for 2 years first to see if he could hold up health wise. Unfortunate.

One could be forgiven for calling is a... "Super" possibility.

This is really awful. I loved watching him play, and I hope he comes back good as ever.

I hope it happens with Watt and Marcellus and whoever they have. America and especially the NFL deserves to see elite quarterbacks can be 5'11'-6''0.

You yourself pointed out how he is special but not elite unless in very specific conditions...

    1. Too damn thin like RG3

    2. Too much of a gunslinger similar to Mahomes, this ain't the NCAA boys, obviously you can't throw multiple interceptions and expect success.

    3. You better be thick like a Wilson if you're actually his height and not Brees height. I know that 2 inches is tiny but it's huge in what body type you need to be for success in this height range and body type.

I doubt it. Since they lost to both the Patriots and the Seahawks, they were done in any meaningful way once Watson was gone for the season no matter what.

Agreed. Actually they were done a week or two before Seattle but that's schematics. But after Watson? That's Arizona and Green Bay dead for this season.
