Seems like a mistake for a team in playoff contention.

The idea that Tyrods average and unremarkable play was the factor holding back the Bills is laughable.

I don’t get it. Their moves to trade away Watkins, Darby, and Dareus seemed like rebuild moves to gain picks and free up cap space. However, they also traded away picks to acquire Kelvin Benjamin who is under contract for $8M next season which doesn’t really fit unless they truly believe he’s a long term fit (McDermott was at Carolina before so I guess that makes sense). It seems that they have been putting Tyrod in a bad position all season by shuffling his receivers now he had a terrible game at home they bench him. It seems like they decided they are going to cut him after the season to free up more cap and this gives them the excuse. I guess that is more important than making the playoffs to them.

Lets be honest, the Bills are going nowhere this season without a spark, theyre 5-4 by virtue of a cake schedule but now have a tough road coming up after being blown out by the Jets and Saints. Tyrod isn't good, he just goes out there and doesn't turn the ball over. Who knows if this rookie will be any good, but they might as well give him a shot vs the possibly Kellen Clemens led Chargers.

We couldn't have destroyed their confidence this bad, eh? TT is very average, but in his defense, the bills didn't really give him anyone to throw to either.

Peterman with five picks in one half.

Hope McDermott gets fired and is blacklisted from the league. What a horrible decision.

Saw Tyrod run off the field on their final TD drive and completely avoid the head coach putting his hand out for a high five. What a stupid decision to bench him after one poor game, especially for a team right in the playoff hunt of in an average AFC.

Tyrod had thrown 3 picks on the season in 9 games. It only took Peterman 9 attempts to throw 4 picks.

What an absolutely epic fail by the Bills coach. One of the dumbest decisions I've ever seen a coach make and the guy had all week to think this through. At this level of coaching, he absolutely deserves to be fired for that level of dumbassery. The guy cost his team a chance at a very winnable game in the middle of a playoff hunt. NFL seasons are too short to be throwing games away like that. Absolutely inexcusable.

It's funny how quick things can change. A few weeks ago the Bills were being talked about as one of the best teams in the NFL and McDermott as a possible Coach Of The Year candidate. Now you can say nearly the exact opposite. The NFL truly is a week to week league.

This can't just be from the coach. This needed the endorsement of the GM as well, no?

If the head coach has to ask the GM's permission to bench a QB, then there's something wrong with that organization.

I think it was all head coach, and one of the most idiotic moves I've ever seen in football. Tyrod Taylor has been good for 2 years. And they bench him for an untested rookie over one bad game? Good lord!

He should be fired at the end of the season.

Looks at Cleveland, umm no.

Doesn't always make sense, good way to alienate your QB who will ask for a trade now, divides the locker room as well, but hey McDermott is saying he stands by it.
