Surprised nobody posted something about this earlier. Remember, he was a Seahawk for a bit.

Retiring as a Seahawk!

One of the funnest players to watch all-time. I would think he'd be a lock for the Hall of Fame, but I guess you never know when it comes to special teams guys. I think Steve Tasker should be in, but he's not.

I definitely think Hester should be a HOFer. The voters have shown that they are willing to put historically great specialists in from every position but long snapper and gunner; be it Ray Guy, Morten Andersen or eventually Vinatieri. Hester is the equal of those guys if not better.

Guy had to wait a really long time though, and it was quite a while for Andersen too. It'll be interesting to see if Hester gets in on one of the early ballots.

Very true. I think the availability of highlights now, and during his career, will work in his favor. Depending on when Vinatieri retires it could create a slight specialist logjam.

Hester gave the Hawks his all for the (very) short time he was with us. He had a couple great returns in that Falcons Playoff game to put the Hawks in position to score, only for a couple of them to be wiped out by unnecessary penalties (the one by Pierre-Louis still pisses me off).
