  • That’s a 2 hour and 45 minute flight???? Thought it would be much shorter than that.

    It’s my west coast thinking. I think Minneapolis as being back east.....

    It takes me less time to fly from Bellingham to Vegas.

    It's about 1800 km from MSP to BOS in great circle distance. It's about 1400 km from SEA to LAS.

    The other thing about the maps that we normally look at is that they are Mercator projections, and they skew the hell out of things in actual distance. Alaska ends up looking like it's basically the size of the continental US.

    Agree. When it comes to travel to the east coast I’m ignorant. Farthest east I’ve been is St. Louis and that was for work.
    At the risk of sounding snobbish I have no desire to go to the east coast, outside of seeing Fenway Park or Camden Yards.
