  • That is probably that.

I know we heard the sound of the window shutting a while ago.

But that is the sound of a door closing in our face.

Not only will teams like GB and the Eagles be leagues better than us, we likely won't even be competitive with them.

GB might have a less intimidating defense but that offense is going to be a buzzsaw.

For the Seahawks, already stuck with a defense that has pieces ripped out of it, combining that with an offense that just had its few teeth removed - it is going to be an interesting few years in Seattle.

  • With Jimmy Graham gone, a totally JS thing to do would be to sign Jordy Nelson to big coin - only to find out that he ends up being nowhere near the threat he was because he does not have Aaron Rodgers.

Let us hope we don't see this scenario as a terrible side-effect of losing Graham.

  • Shaquem Griffin runs at Graham, Graham runs a different route to avoid Griffen, Rodgers has a meltdown in the huddle.

One can dream, and where cold weather can numb it can also make things like getting hit hurt a lot longer.

  • Sad to see him go but wish him well.
Not sure he's going to like playing in the chill of GB though.

Rodgers' style is similar to Brees - only better (and with a better arm) so maybe it'll be a couple great seasons for them.

  • Jordy Nelson's stock is low right now. He's going to be 33, he's had some recent injuries, and he's coming off his worst statistical season.

But when you actually look at his numbers in detail, he was quite good when Aaron Rodgers was healthy and playing. Nelson had 230 yards and six TDs in his first four games with Rodgers.

I would sign him for $5M.

  • Should be a better fit in GB than in Seattle. Bevell blew the opportunity for the most part. He made some nice TDs for us, but what left a mark in my memory were all the dropped passes he had. Would rather see his money go elsewhere

  • https://seahawkswire.usatoday.com/2...- ... ll-player/

“He’s become such a complete football player,” Carroll praised. “He had a very good year in advancing his blocking skills and the demands we placed on him. You can just tell his confidence level is in the clouds. He knows he can block big guys and backers and DBs. He has no hesitation. He’s totally grown in that area. He’s so much more of a complete player than we thought he would even become.”

    Perfect comment!

He never fit here, was only used effectively in a limited red zone role by our stupid ex-OC in his last season here and was stupid expensive for what he brought to the team.

It was another Harvin type ‘go for it’ Big Balls Pete roster move which long term weakened the team. Ownership and JS needs to stop Pete from doing that. It Richardson isn’t able to be re-signed the team will have given up a 3rd for not much result as well. Keeping the draft capital from these early picks now lost w/o positive return is critical to refreshing a roster.

You can argue for it when there is critical positional need but this type of trade rarely pays off as you overpay in every way for the player.

Except for the fact that since 2008 when Rodgers became a starter, Brees has more passing yards every year except 2009, a higher completion percentage every year except 2012, more completions all 10 years, more TD's every year except 2014 and 2016, and took less sacks in every year except 2013 and 2014. But yeah, Rodgers is better...

People like to call Brees a stat whore but it's Rodgers that will take a sack (and risk a fumble) instead of throwing the ball away to try and protect his QB rating.
