Yeah, it is a disappointment that we didn't sign him, especially since he came at a decent price. Between him and Baldwin we would have been set at the receiver position. It's especially hard considering we spent a first round draft pick on a guy that had a similar skill set as Tate, but was toxic and less productive. We then spent another first on Jimmy Graham, and another second, and what, two thirds on receivers?

There was that whole conspiracy about Tate sleeping with Wilson's wife, and if that was indeed the case I could see why we didn't sign him. I'm not so sure I believe that based on the fact that Wilson, and Tate have hung out since then, and keep in contact, at least via twitter. I just think that the FO dropped the ball on this one -- which is a shame considering that him and Doug Baldwin would be one of the better WR corps in the NFL, and they would have come at a bargain value.

We lost that SB because we lost Tate.

We probably lost the chance to go to another one after that.

Not signing Tate is probably tied with trading Unger in 2 of the stupidest moves the FO ever made. Followed closely behind with Harvin bring brought to this team.

It is going to take a long time to get over those moves because they literally transformed this team from a SB contender to a wildcard team.

And allowing Tate to walk was the worst move of the bunch.

You post this all over the place man. Give it a rest. Was Tate going to be extra special pass rushers or DB that would have prevented Brady from going down the field twice? Was Tate going to stop Brady on 3rd and 15? Oh, the last play that went to a player with 15 targets all season long so Bevell would have screwed it up because he was so clever. Then in 2015 was he going to prevent the team from blowing 4th qtr leads in the first half of the season? Was he going to get Kam to stay? All of that is speculation in Max Ungers last season with the Hawks he played in six games, so it was a wise move to get something back for him. The problem is the same as it was during Super Bowl 49 Bevell and Cable sucking the life out of the team with their historically inept coaching.

We could not afford him thats why...A lot of players were up for contracts from rookie deals
and Tate wanted a lot.He got his money from someone else.
How many playoff games has he taken the Lions to since he is so great?
I do agree the FO made a lot of boneheaded moves after he left but this one wasn't one of them.
Angry Doug emerged out the shadows and got paid.

Tate wanted two things. More money and more targets in a more "modern" pass happy offense. He got both in Detroit.

"Hollywood" or not, he made a wise decision. Ciera is hands down one of the prettiest entertainers of this generation and still looks as good as she did back when she first came out (thinner than I like mine, but...) ... AND makes her own paper. Ashley was hideous from jump and it will SWIFTLY get worse.

But, yeah, gon' and tell us Crizzilla.

No way Tate has the same stats on this team.

Why do you think Jimmy was so unhappy here?

Due to his hate for seafood, apparently.

Causality says the Harvin move was worse. Bringing in Harvin led directly (IMO) to losing Tate.

IIRC the Seahawks had nearly every penny of their cap either taken up or accounted for with extensions.

Shame as his cap hit in 2014 was only $3.1M.

As OP confirmed...
Also people are forgetting the cap back then is lower than today.
