My first thought was,
Please be Bevell, please be Bevell, please be Bevell
But, on further reflection,
He's probably a little more run-pass balanced than Rodgers would like, but their overall passing game philosophy is pretty similar. Forgo the short to intermediate range stuff for the splash play. He would get along with Rodgers better than McCarthy. He would put receivers where Rodgers wants them.
He's already shown an ability to yield some of the game planning (in his coordination with running game coordinator Cable), which speaks for the likelihood that he would work well with Rodgers wanting to have a lot of say in the plan. I've never been convinced that Bevell was the problem. He had issues, but every coordinator's issues are going to be magnified by Cable's line. If anyone is going to be able to make chicken salad out of Bevell's route tree, it's probably Rodgers.
Bevell actually might be a good fit, and a redemption story.
Please, Green Bay, go with Farve. That would be pretty epically bad.
I hear Tom Cable may be looking for a head coaching gig
