Agree, he was a shadow of his former self the past few seasons he played.

He was horrible on TV.

A class person, washed up footbal player, bad tv analyst.

This was exactly my thought as well. It probably doesn't help that his teammate, Romo, is on an entirely different broadcasting trajectory. Even my Redskins and Eagles friends out here on the East Coast like Romo (as do I).
