Trying to understand why the huge contract for Mathieu. Didn't think he was even top 5 in the league. He wasn't spectacular in Arizona...having a hard time getting excited about this.

If he signs with the Texans it'll be because they gave him a big fat new contract which is what he's been wanting all along. A big fat new contract is hardly a slap in the face. Quite the opposite in fact.

He's also a free agent so if he doesn't want to play for the Texans he simply doesn't have to sign with them.
