Good if the team can take some advantage o the comp pick formula. Stephen who with others cost the team any comp picks from a serious loss of talent last year was being outplayed by Ford at the end of the season anyway.

Anyone know his contract numbers?

Yeah if he didn't have 12 sacks 24 pressures and 12 tackles for loss he was a scrub by this boards standards. He played well filling the gap and did get pressures, he wasn't here for stats, he was here to run gap defend. Some of you need to get off the stat bandwagon.

Meh.

There was a noticeable improvement in run defense every time he came off the field and Ford went in. He wasn't a good 1-tech, IMO and was just a body when lined up at 3. This is no loss. Will just need another depth guy, but hopefully this time someone with some upside.

Its not the stats its the drop off in our run D. He was the only real change from 2017 to 2018 and while KJ being out hurt. Our run defense was a lot better with Poona.

Shamar played very decently, but it was the right move to let him go for that price with Poona waiting in the wings. He was as good of a stopgap as you can ask for.

I don't get this response. Ford was better by almost every metric and was going to start over him regardless. This was almost a lock to happen and I think Seattle is completely fine with it.

Stephen was a decent, not elite D-lineman. Not surprising he got more money elsewhere than we might have offered.

Ford did well toward the end of the season, and likely has some decent upside as our inside guy, and is on a rookie contract.

This is def not a "world is on fire" happening. Run stuffers are generally easier to find than pass rushers, especially inside. They show up in later rounds all the time.

They need a depth guy here to replace Stephen. And that can be had for vet min or thereabouts for a run stuffer, or something can turn up in the draft. Like runningbacks, run-stuffing DTs grow on trees. It's the guys that get after the passer that are hard to find.

The UFA losses are piling up and Seattle should be looking to add a ton of comp picks. Right now I think the Seahawks have lost the most. And have only gained a $4M kicker.
