With the Bills victory over Pissburgh, they reached a double digit win total for the first time since 1999. This was the longest drought in the NFL by 8 seasons (it now belongs to Cleveland, who last won 10 games in 2007). Just to give you an idea of how long ago that was, 1999 was the final season in Buffalo for three HoFers: Andre Reed, Thurman Thomas, and Bruce Smith.

Well done, Buffalo. Congratulations, you earned it. :irishdrinkers:

And good on you for beating the shitheel Stealers.

But did they win those games convincingly? Ha Ha.

That was the year that Doug Flutie was the starting QB; his record as a starter that season was 8 wins and 3 losses.
Then Wade Phillips benched him in the playoffs.

To put that in perspective.
Imagine Pete Carroll sitting Russ for the last regular season game, and subbing in Geno. Then letting Geno play the first playoff game.... because he was.....taller. And then they lose and never get back to the playoffs for 17 years.

So Billsy.

That really happened. Crazy Wade. Crazy 1999.

Was it Rob Johnson he benched him for? I can't remember.
Oh, and screw the stealers. Good job last night Bills!

I remember the Flutie run well since he had left the cfl after a successful run there. Flutie drives them into the playoffs and then Phillip's starts pretty boy garbage qb Johnson. I think if I recall ownership made Phillip's start him as Johnson was going to be the face of the team. Backfired big time. If Flutie was in they were poised for a run. Although the Bill's wont likely win a game in the playoffs it's nice to see a different team in there.

It took them 64 years to win 10 or more games last century so I think things are looking up.

Just so you guys know, the Bills were AFL Champs in 1964 and 1965.

The topic was 10 win seasons.

The funny thing about that 64 team, Jack Kemp threw 13 TDs and 26 interceptions.
