Originally aired on I believe Showtime. This is a fantastic documentary of the league called Full Color Footbal. I cannot recommend this more highly. As I said, 5 parts, one hour each. Something to entertain during our collective downtime. If you have an interest in the history of pro football, you'll love this.

Have not watched it yet, but those who do should get a better picture of how influential Al Davis was if they do it accurately as well as Lamar Hunt.

Imo, we owe the development of the high-scoring offenses we have today to the AFL. I've been watching the NFL for over 60 years (I started when I was 10 or so) and there was a world of difference between the offensive play-calling between the AFL and the NFL teams. NFL teams were typical of Woody Hayes Buckeyes... three yards and a cloud of dust while AFL teams aired out the passing game.
