I hate seeing people sue the business because a passenger misbehaved.

They're suing he company because they complained multiple times before anything was done, and they refused to give the passengers name therefore they can't sue the passenger.

"The allegations that the two men make against the United Airlines employee are shocking."

If you are doing something you are too ashamed of to put your name out there publicly you probably shouldn't be doing it. "Unidentified" player when identified will be mercilessly mocked by other players and fans and deservedly so.

It's AP policy not to name victims of SA until they themselves go public first.

Why does he deserve to get mocked for it? Statistically, he's most likely a large male; he's also more likely to be black. He was in a hazardous situation that he couldn't get out of without being accused of assault himself or worse.

And a lawsuit is the way to solve this?

Hint: I'm an attorney.

If you're a civil attorney, you know the SOP is to get your attorney to try to persuade the advisory party into a pre-litigation settlement. You know, so none of this makes the press and/or results in larger gains in court.

It's the same way in family court. Both sides usually try to keep their parties outside court while accomplishing settlements.

So the fact of this public suit indicates that either the claim was totally frivolous (hard to believe unless the two witnesses, prob other pasengers, and at least one steward witnessed) or that they were going to totally blow it off as it was an NFL player, 70 percent probability a black player, and it was just some drunk lady groupie and b/c that NBD.

I don't think a player, particularly a black player, wishes that inflicted upon him.
