Bengals vs. Texans AFC Wildcard matchup game thread

Discuss any and all NFL-related topics and matters of interest here. RATING: PG-13
  • Here's the box score....

Doesn't really matter too much for the Hawks, but I think I'd like to see the Bengals win. What do you guys think?

    The score right now is:

    Bengals- 13

    Texans- 19

  • Bengals they haven't won a playoff game since the 90's I think. Always gotta root for the underdog.

  • Both teams go 3 and out, Bengals dropped a pass that would've helped them convert though.

  • Yea I can't really settle on a team to root for.

I'm thinking the Texans, just because they don't really scare me and yet I think they would have the best chance of knocking off one of the other teams in the AFC that do.

  • 2 straight big plays for the Texans now. One a pass to Daniels and a run by Foster. Haven't crossed midfield yet though, Bengals can still stop them and not suffer much.

  • Games starting to get away from the Bengals a little now. They couldn't capitalize on a big run by Green Ellis. Let's see if the Texans can get anything going.

  • Bengals throw a pick, but it was essentially a punt as it was on a long ball on 3rd and 12. Still 6 nothing Texans.

EDIT: NVM pick was incomplete. Bengals punted and Texans ended up gaining 3 yards. LOL

Yep, thanks to the screen game the Bengals have like -15 yards passing. Horrible.

  • This game is painfully boring and does not have the feeling of a playoff game to me. Neither team seems to have much intensity and the crowd seems to be bored. its about to give me a naptime.

He's not all that good with A.J. Green.

I just hope we're also better than the Redskins.

  • The Bengals certainly aren't scaring me, but the Texans are more disappointing in my book. The Bengals are on the road at least.

Houston's offense is just a field goal fest and Schaub's body language is annoying as well. They are underwhelming except for their offensive line.

All I could think in the first quarter was jeez these QBs look like they're in slow motion and have noodle arms and are easy to sack, and when they are forced to move only have enough arm to hit little checkdowns. That's what comes from watching so much RW I guess. You expect a guy to squirt out of trouble, run around for 10 seconds, then throw a laser downfield.

  • I can't get over that this is what Houston does, in a playoff game, AT HOME. No one's going to take their regular season record seriously for about the next 10 years, and Schaub shows no signs of being a guy who can will his team to the Superbowl. It's going to be an embarrassment when he's on one sideline and Brady/Manning are on the other. Should be good for some laughs.

Schaub passed for 261 yards (with an oof! pick six in there and 0 TDs), I've never seen a more pedestrian 261.
