Colin's height played a role in that. Bigger stride allowed him to pull ahead.

Id like to see one vs Wilson, who ran significantly faster.

I think Russell was .02 slower than Kaepernick. I'd have to look it up to verify that.

He's also four inches taller and 20 pounds heavier.

Would be cooler to see it between Manziel and Wilson IMO b/c they're roughly the same size.

Ya know what has been confusing me all weekend?

They were saying that Kap had a 4.63 official on TV but I'd always heard he ran 4.53. They were also saying Vernon ran 4.40 but I'd always heard he ran 4.38 official.

Not sure who to believe.

Now they just said again Kaep ran a 4.63, then showed Clowney side by side with him and Manziel and he smoked them both with a 4.53 official. So someone is wrong on Kaeps time, and the tape shows Clowneys 4.53 is a lot faster than Kaeps supposed 4.53, that the NFL network says is a 4.63.

Right...and the same site that lists Wilsons 4.55 says Kap ran 4.53.

IE, who the hell knows. LOL.

They also showed Kaep vs Clowney and Cam(4.6), and Kaep comes in 3rd.

I don't doubt that Clowney is faster.

What confuses me is that all of their "official" times have changed from previous years.

Vernon Davis "Official" 40 time was 4.38. This weekend they listed it at 4.40.

Colin Kaepernicks "Official" 40 time was 4.53. The Below is a screen grab from NFL Networks site...

Kapspd zps8695299c

Did they go back and revise all the old 40 times? No clue.

You can't say tho that Wilsons 40 was "significatly faster" because you are getting that number from the same place that lists Kaps at 4.53.

Something has to be hinkey with this.

4.68 gets beat significantly worse by a 4.53 than that. If that was the case, any RB that runs a 4.4 would be caught by most LBers in the NFL.

Theres something Very inconsistent about all this official timing.
I think theyve been changing them hoping people wouldnt notice.
Because how are they gonna show Kap side by side and Clowney side by side
and Clowney smokes Kap.

It confused me too but then I found several measurements that were not official on the NFL combine website. Kaep, Luck and Cams times were not the same ones shown on the simulcast. Several measurements like Abby's height are not updated with official ones. Etc.. The official 40 time may not be either of the two unofficial recorded times--I.e. Manzeil. It's likely the official times were based on video footage but I am not certain.
