Why is there no * next to the 2012 Ravens Title?

I mean everyone said the replacement refs tainted our entire 2012 season with the supposed worst call in NFL History in the Green Bay game. But why the double standard when the Ravens were given the division title and home playoff game by a TERRIBLE call on a missed FG vs the Patriots in Week 3? There was hardly any outrage about that....

There is no way that is good, it was clearly wide. I get that if it goes above the upright it's a judgement call, but there is no way that with extended uprights it goes through.

You could find examples of this every season. You play the teams you are scheduled. Win more then the next guy and you are ok.

Yeah but people complain about the FailMairy non stop, and now the NFC fumble as well. Where it seems other teams get away with there BS call for a win, and it gets dropped quickly.

Because devaluing a Super Bowl win because of a bad call in week 3 is asinine.

Tainting a superbowl win for any circumstance is lame. The trophy is raised and under no circumstances can anything change that. There are a ton of what ifs etc. that can change an outcome of the season but that is what makes football such a great sport. The margin between winning and losing is so close.

There was PLENTY of outrage over that FG call. In fact, I don't think the Seattle/GB game would have been the flashpoint it ended up being without that NE/Baltimore game.

At 9 seconds the ball was well clear of the goal post. If you pause it when its directly over it, it's good.

It's like after the Steelers/Cardinals SB. Some Arizona writer posted a picture of Holmes with only one foot down and said "See, it wasn't a catch!" but failed to include the dozen other pictures of both feet down. You picked out only the evidence to support your claim and not the evidence that mattered.

There's no asterisk because the FG was good. Directly over the upright = a made kick.

"The entire ball must pass through the vertical pl
ane of the goal, which is the area above the crossbar
and between the uprights or, if above the uprights, b
etween their outside edges. If the ball passes
through the goal, and returns through the goal without
striking the ground or some object or person
beyond the goal, the attempt is unsuccessful."

So if any part of the ball is outside the edge of the upright it's no good. Watch the 2nd video again at 0:45 , you really are telling me without a doubt that NO PART of the ball is to the right of the upright?

The flaw in your logic is that the ball in that picture is directly above the upright. It looks beyond it to me. Its an impossible argument to have without looking directly up or down.

I have no problem putting an asterisk on it. :D

I think it should have that laugh-cry emoji by it. It's how the rest of the league felt watching the 9ers lose that.

Just curious, why are you so insecure that you wish to place an asterisk on other franchise's championships. This is the second one in two threads I have seen this reference.

Why are you so insecure you need to post on other teams forums?

Nice comeback.

How exactly is posting on another forum a sign of insecurity?

I am secure enough that I can and have been for years. I am a fully excepted member in good standing here and contribute to the sharing of information.

By the way, what was your screen name when you were a fan of the Vikings?
