To date, all that speed and athleticism has not been enough. Maybe this will be the year all the cumulative coaching clicks in for him. It is certainly a huge opportunity for him.

"Ron is a tough kid -- he's going to challenge (you) every play," Reid said. "That's the thing that jumps at you.

"We saw last year, when he was in the game, he made plays. It seemed like the ball went his way; he forced turnovers when he had opportunities last year. That's a plus."

By the way, Kansas City fared well picking up a couple of August cuts from the Seahawks last year in Ron Parker and Sean McGrath. Encouraged, the Chiefs may revisit Seahawk cuts once again next August.
