Interesting trade. I heard the Bucs contacted the Niners for Boone as well.

Pats know something? They seldom let a guy go too early.

He's getting up there in age and they saved money on the cap while picking up a legit TE and another draft pick. They must feel comfortable with the guards they have. Good move by the Pats.

Wright seems like a poor-man's attempt to replace Hernandez. Read a couple tweets from folks claiming he has WR-like route-running and catching, not so much on the blocking side of things. Some are also saying this doesn't mean there are issues with Gronk. Not sure, I don't follow the Pats so I am going to assume this is true.

Looks like ASJ is doing well in Tampa. Picked him up in the late rounds of my fantasy league...

They don't let guys go too early, but they let them go earlier than most fans think they should, and they've been fleecing teams this way for years now. Mankins is 32 and was recently embroiled in a contract dispute with the Patriots that left him with a pretty significant cap figure. The Pats save almost $6M in cap space by letting go a guy whose play had slipped a bit last season.
