I am sure details will be forthcoming. I have strong suspicion that spouses and girlfriends will be reluctant to actually cooperate with authorities considering the amount of money involved in these new suspensions.

Dang, Goodell's going to end up suspending the entire team! Aldon Smith will come back in November, look around, and say "...Guys? Guys? Where is everyone?"

Oh my. The plot thickens in Santa Clara.

Until his case is resolved, which could be several months if not next offseason, the new policy will not affect his playing time. Fans may not want him playing but I am not sure how quickly this goes through the court system.

Correct. New policy will wait for case to complete.

Very bad look tho. Can't abide by someone who hits a woman. I'd be curious about the facts here.

I actually had this happen to a family member. He never laid a hand on her. Police are bound to make an arrest if the even if the victim says very little and doesn't want it.

No idea if its similar here. If he really hit her then I want him cut. Done.

Well duh Damian, Aldon was at McDonalds house before he got in the car.

First, are we sure that Greg Hardy wont get punished with the new (albiet, nothing has actually changed and Goodell could have always done this) policy?

For what it's worth, I'm told there were other 49ers on hand when police arrived at Ray McDonald's home but Aldon Smith was not one of them.

No team is immune to this crap.
With so much at stake, I wish these guys would learn to walk away.
Obviously easier said than done.
