Palmer is doubtful for tomorrow.

Hearing #Cards QB Carson Palmer will seek another opinion regarding the nerve issue in his throwing shoulder. Arians presser at 12:15 today.

He hasn't been able to throw for three weeks now, and has only been able to throw/lift his arm above his head when he has needles intact in his shoulder... His arm can't be in gameday shape at this point with it not functioning for 3 weeks. His contract is up this year as well.

It's definitely not looking good. I was under the impression that he had a rather lengthy throwing session last week, but his arm went downhill again after that

What Arians says, and what actually has happened has been two different things.... We have a relative of Palmer on the board that I have exchanged messages with and it is much worse than the coaching staff lets on...

In addition, Palmer has exchanged text messages with Ed Werder and said there is no improvement at all and does not have the strength to do the job. The only time he was able to throw the ball last week is when needles were placed in his arm, the second the needles are removed his arm loses function

Coaches not telling the whole truth on their players doesn't really surprise me. Either way, when a player decides to seek a new opinion after awhile being unable to play, there usually is something that necessitates that move. There are multiple possibilities there, but none are very positive.

I guess this is as good a time as any to commend the OP for being a classy Cards fan.

With Arians being so into the deep ball, maybe the Cardinals could offer the Texans a late pick for a gunslinger like Ryan Mallett. I think he'd fit their system very well. At Arkansas he was basically a 6'7" version of Kurt Warner.

Yeah, he has been pretty good. Hope he stays.

Also if you want, Ringless, you can embed Tweets so they show up in your posts themselves using the tweet tag. Right-click the timestamp link on the Tweet on Twitter.com itself, copy link, and just paste between the tags; so your first Tweet would look like this:

Code:

Which would show as this:

Palmer's always been a sad figure to me. Classic "Coulda been a contendah" type of story. A lot of things might have happened differently if Kimo von Oelhoffen didn't dive into his knee. Lot of things.

That was so chicken shit. I think the Bengals would have beat the Steelers in that game. It's hard to tell but i have the feeling Kimo did that on purpose then jumped up and starting waving for medical help like he really cared. Since when does a defensive lineman care about an opposing offensive player in their division, one that has been beating them and stands in the way of their trip to the Superbowl?

I don't feel too bad for Palmer though, he's had a lot of things go right in his life and when he retires he'll have 100 million in the bank. Kind of cracks me up that he wanted out of Cincy so bad and all of sudden they are contenders. But they are contenders because of the picks they got for him.

Right there with ya. The Bengals if anything were strong on offense. Where it happened in the game was more than perfect for the Steelers. He got up waving because he knew exactly what he just did. Maybe he didn't plan it, maybe he felt bad about it, but in the moment he went for the leg. Just like Cobra Kai. I watched that game thinking that the Bengals were going to throttle the Steelers.

I want to say that on the play he completed a massive bomb too... unfortunate is an understatement.

Palmer went to a specialist and they're calling it an axillary nerve contusion. It's not supposed to be season or career threatening but is unpredictable in how long it will take him to return. Apparently the nerve could begin to "wake up" tomorrow or it could be weeks. I think he'll be back at some point this season.

Isn't it kinda the same thing that Peyton went through when he got to Denver?

Nerve damage is tricky, there's no timetable. It's either going to get better, or not.
