  • i didnt see the balk but with Gordon since the original call was out, there wasnt enough evidence to over turn it. If he was called safe, it would have stayed that way too. Tough loss but the first real measuring stick for this team is this next series against Houston. Good news is Verlander won't pitch in the series.

Thought the field umps and NY blew the Gordon call but it was a bang bang play.
Not enough offense is why they lost today though. Saw a lot of hard hit balls right at A’s fielders today.
Chalk it up to their starter being on and ours made one more bad pitch. Felix pitched great outside of the 3-0 batting practice fastball.

  • I hope Diaz can keep this up all year. He is practically unhittable right now.

Another very good start for Paxton.

And we're ahead of the Astros for 2nd in the division!

  • He is fricken locked in. The Astro's are a hell of a team. Just a great pitching duel yesterday. It's extremely important to win games vs. Houston imo. They have owned the M's for a long while now.

  • It was a good win, against a pitcher that has owned us the last couple of years. 3 more against the 'Stros this week.

  • Reality check. Oh, well.

Yeah, I'm wondering how long the Ichiro thing will go on. He finally got a hit, but he's hogging a roster spot. I'd rather have kept Motter up. He can play more positions in the field, at least.

  • 5 runs in the last 4 games. Pathetic. So tired of the streaky hitting with this core. And I'm so SICK of the Astros. Springer, Correa, Altuve, the whole lot of em!

And can someone please tell me what Dee Gordon is doing in center field? I know it's a new position, and he's made a few nice plays out there. He's playing way too many balls on a hop. And there is no excuse for Dee dropping that double McCann had. It's early, but I'm already pining for Jarrod Dyson.

  • Ugh, Haniger also needs work playing outfield. Why in the world was he playing SO shallow with bases loaded and 2 outs? Altuve with a bases clearing double over Haniger's head. NO REASON he should have been playing so shallow. Not sure if that was Servais telling him to play shallow or not. Either way, Gordon and Haniger are terrible outfielders. I love Dee so far but he's not a center fielder (yet), and Haniger misjudges fly balls way too much. Frustrating series.

  • The Astros will likely repeat as WS champs. That pitching rotation is elite, the bats have been kinda cold so far but they'll heat up, once that happens they'll be practically unbeatable in a series.

  • Romine was pinch running in the 9th, and when Segura hit that 2 run double that wasnt even close to being caught, Romine still ran back and tagged up at 3rd before going home. Maybe he was watching a different game on the big screen.

I noticed that, too. The same exact thing happened earlier in the game with Choo at 3rd. Heredia wasn't close to catching a flyer in left, it was a clear base hit, and Choo literally waited until Guillermo played it on a hop to tag and head home. And I'm not sure why Guillermo didn't launch it home to attempt a throw out. He's got a strong, accurate arm. What is going through some of these players heads?

Nice win though. They chomped down in crunch time and put the pedal to the metal. It was good to see. Hopefully it sparked something for them.

You think maybe it's the 3rd base coach having them play it safe and not the players?

Possible double play turns into a rbi double because our firstbaseman cant get a inch off the ground.

For the life of me I don't understand why the M's didn't basically "force" him to lose 20-30 pounds during the offseason. There is literally no physical advantage to carrying that much excess fat. This is his one and only job that he is getting paid millions a year to do. I just don't get it.

Yep, Diaz always seems shaky on 4 out saves. He basically is not good when he has to sit between innings.

I don’t like that move. Heredia is producing when he plays. Ichiro needs to be cut as he has been overmatched.

This is such bull hockey! What has Ichiro done??? Guillermo has done nothing except produce. The only reason Ichiro was brought in was to be depth for Gamel's absence. Heredia was already in the plans. This move proves that Servais and Dipoto have a losers mentality.
