When Mariners fans come to the ballpark in 2019, there will be a new name adorning the downtown Seattle ballpark.

Sources tell Forbes.com that Safeco Field will be renamed T-Mobile Field starting in the 2019 season. The rights will cost about $6 million dollars annually.

In 2017 it was announced that Safeco Insurance would no longer carry the naming rights of the stadium after the 2018 season and stadium signage had began to come down at the beginning of November.

According to TNT’s TJ Cotterill, the Mariners cannot confirm that T-Mobile has acquired the naming rights. TJ has also been told that the team will not announce the deal before finalizing a ballpark lease agreement.

We will update the story as is continues to develop.

Laughing at the people who are saying it will always be Safeco to them. People stopped calling Qwest field that within a few months.

I imagine the new arena will be Amazon though.

Sweet, can't wait for all the pink!

I don't mind it, its a north west company and they seem to put a lot of money into baseball sponsorship. Might get some Mariners tickets offers through them now.

I'm surprised they don't give naming rights to freeways.. highways, airports.. and anyother public venues.

Around my area we need sponsors for roads so they can be
driveable..We have gas tax,excise tax,lottery proceeds,property tax,
income tax and casino money that is supposed to go towards this
states roads..I only see Indianapolis getting anything done.

I think they need to name Occidental Ave. Paul Allen Parkway.

Should be Park. T-Mobile Park. Field worked for Safeco, but Park works better for T-Mobile. Sounds less aneurysm-inducing.

I never liked Safeco, so, I'm cool with T-Mobile. Also, it is my carrier, while my insurer is Pemco.

SEATTLE -- Safeco Field is officially no more. The Seattle Mariners home park will now be known as "T-Mobile Park", the team announced Wednesday.

The team on Wednesday announced the agreement, which takes effect Jan. 1 and runs through December 2043.

The M's play in a pink mobile home park now. Fitting.

Well at least we know why they didn't want anyone in the Occidental Alley.

Well, with the Seahawks and Sonics, they're gonna be playing two in the clink and one in the pink all next year.
