Her jersey is red because that's her teams jersey. Plain and simple, has nothing to do with the NHL team.

Sounds good to the ear
Isn't a pun or joke that will get old quickly (Sockeye)
Has great logo potential
Isn't potentially offensive to any group of people
Isn't already antiquated (Metropolitans)

I could go for the Seattle Stealth and be fully content.

All of their web and print material has been charcoal and red. This would also make sense because a lot of northwest tribal art is black and red and with totems and sockeye as the front-running nicknames it would make sense. I have a feeling it will be the Seattle Sockeyes, black and red colors, tribal-inspired logo refined and clean matching the tech nature of the area.
