Name the two guys you want the M's to sign or trade for.

Here's mine: Victor Martinez, Billy Butler. But both are probably too much.

Billy Butler is a free agent, KC didn't pick up his option.

I could see the Mariners making a run at him. They wanted to trade for him during the season, IIRC.

I thought he had another year left? Did Butler's last year wasn't picked up?

Actually the thing I'm most happy about this off-season is that we don't have to worry who the next manager will be for a while.

as in Nelson Cruz?

Butler seems to be the easy fit. I'm not necessarily sold on him. He's 29, his numbers have decreased, and he cant do anything but hit DH. And for all that I think he will be expensive.

Could do a lot worse (Corey Hart, Logan Morrison, Justin Smoak) though.

I could see the Mariners taking a one-year flyer on someone like Cuddyer or Rios as an outfield bat.

Probably unrealistic, but I'd like to see them trade for Matt Kemp. I haven't been following closely, but I believe the Dodgers are loaded with outfielders and Kemp should be available. And since his contract is large, we might not have to trade as much in exchange for taking his contract off their hands.

Congratulations to Kyle Seager for winning his first gold glove today!
Pretty impressive considering Beltre and Donaldson are in the same division. Congrats to Kyle! :th2thumbs:

I wonder if the Mariners would consider someone like Yasmani Tomas. Tomas doesn't have any MLB experience, maybe some minor league but he was on the Cuban National team. He's a power-hitter who can play corner outfield. The M's are in the market for a RF. He's young at 23 years old and has good size 6'1/230pds. He's a free agent to boot.

I heard somewhere that they are at least checking him out.

Saunders numbers are what will lure teams.

273/.341/.450 these are good post steroid era.

Perhaps, but if I was a team I would be very concerned about his injury history. Saunders has been prone to having long hitting slumps throughout his career as well.
