  • Yes I liked McCullom's potential and Crabbe as well.

I am kinda shocked that these guys are playing defense.

Lilliard and CJ can cut to the rim and shoot the long ball.

Its hard to temper my enthusiasm. At some point, a small forward and power forward need to emerge.

I like Harkless......and Davis though. Wonder if Plumblee or some other guy eventually goes stud?

Plumblee passes so well and runs like a deer, 20 and 10 a game? He can do eet!

  • Yeah I agree, as I (and probably you said) they will be fun to watch and win or lose its been an awesome year, Crabbe and Meyer Leonard are at the end of their contracts, what to do, what to do? I am all for resigning Crabbe, but Leonard I am not sure about, however he is only 24

  • I got to give this team its props, and I'll eat some crow. They're playing much better than I thought. This team has cost me a lot of money from through "sports investing." Should be a good game tonight, but I do think they fall to a hot Celtics team. This is their 4th game in 5 nights and the second of a back-to-back.

SportsCenter had a sit-down conversation with Lillard and McCollum last night. Good to see they're getting some attention.

It wasn't pretty, and it sure looked like the schedule affected them. Fortunately, they'll get a day off before each of the next two games. If they can play well (not necessarily win, but at least play well in a losing effort) against Toronto and beat Detroit, this will have been a very successful road trip.

  • The Celtics are one tough team. I don't know if there is a better on-ball defender at the guard position than Avery Bradley. He was hounding Lillard all night, even denying him the ball. Rarely do you ever see that in the NBA. Reminded me of college basketball. If more guys played like Bradley, I think people would enjoy the NBA a lot more. Charles Barkley recently said that the NBA is basically un-watchable. I couldn't agree more.

  • Blazers ran out of gas on the second half of the roadtrip. However, the first 3 games of the roadtrip were against weaker opponents, whereas the last 3 were against pretty quality teams. I said it earlier, but 3-3 would be a success.

I'd agree with that. They 3 home games this week and I think they need to win a minimum 2 of 3 to get some mo back. All three are winnable, Wizards, Magic and Mavericks.

Only NBA I watch are the Blazers, some playoffs and the finals. And unfortunately I don't get that many Blazer games cuz I have Direc. That whole thing annoys the $h!t out of me but that's a different discussion.

  • Moe Harkless and Aminu have been inserted in the starting lineup. I like the results of that. Leonard is injured.
More time for Ed Davis and Hendersen is good too. The goal bye the end of the season is to overtake the Grizzlies and play the Clippers in the first round. A successful season already.

Actually after last nights game they're tied with the grizzlies who still have to play golden state twice and at Dallas. Looks like we're going to get the 5 seed. Before the season started I would have thought we had a better chance at a top 5 pick.

  • I think next year will be more telling without the slow start. Could battle for the division. What piece do we add? Dont want to crash the chemistry. Need defense....

I like how stotts goes with the hot hand and how guys have roles too. It cant be overated developing a rythem and setting expectations. Nate McMillian was terrible at that.

Kerr will get it since they got the 73 wins. I personally wouldn't give it to him since he missed the first couple months of the season, but they'll give it to him. Personally I'd give it to Brad Stevens. Terry Stotts should be top 5 though. No one expected that team to finish anywhere near .500.

I think a big man is the next piece this team needs. PG and SG are definitely positions that are filled. I like Aminu, he is an upgrade over Batum. I always felt like Batum was soft, inconsistent and overrated. I also like Plumlee more than Lopez. While Lopez was good, he wasn't a great defender and wasn't athletic enough to play in a up-tempo offense. The one position where the Blazers took a step back this year was the PF position. I think a two way player like Taj Gibson would be a great add.

  • Blazers got smoked in the first game. I don't really expect any of the games in LA to be all that close, I think the games in Portland will be very competitive and I expect Portland to steal at least one at the Rose Garden.

Last night Doc showed why he is one of the best coaches in the NBA. Constantly doubled Lillard and McCollum on the pick and rolls, forcing the other guys to shoot. The Clippers were literally daring Aminu to shoot 3's, they didn't even bother guarding him on the 3-point line. I think Stotts will have to make some type of adjustment with the starting lineup, perhaps going small and inserting Crabbe for either Harkless or Aminu.

The Blazers are just too one dimensional. This is where they miss a guy like Aldridge where they can just throw him the ball in the low post and let him go to work. Everything comes from their two guards on the perimeter. If you shut them down, they don't have a whole lot else that can beat you. Whereas with the Clippers, they have about 4-5 guys who can create their own offense and score 20 at ease (CP3, Crawford, d*ck, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, etc.).

  • Lilliard is the one getting punked by Chris Paul and Co. I was hoping for a better contest. Defensively over matched by a more veteran club. No shame in that if the offseason involves some wheelin and dealin.

  • The Blazers badly need a big man who can stretch the floor and knock down perimeter jumpers. The Clippers are trapping Lillard and McCollum and basically leaving the screener wide open. Last year the Clipps wouldn't be able to do that, good luck leaving Aldridge wide open. All of Portland's bigs are the same, athletic guys who can only score in the paint. They need a Kevin Love type of big man who can stretch the floor.
