One of 10 sites selected to host games. This is going to be incredible. Hopefully we get to host a USMNT game.

All of the venues are:

Boston (Gillette Stadium)
Chicago (Soldier Field),
Houston (NRG Stadium)
Los Angeles (Rose Bowl)
New York (MetLife Stadium)
Orlando (Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium)
Philadelphia (Lincoln Financial Field)
Phoenix (University of Phoenix Stadium)
San Francisco (Levi’s Stadium)
Seattle (CenturyLink Field)

So what's copa America? A more localized World Cup?

This particular version will be.

The normal Copa America is the every 4 years tournament to determine the Champion of South America. The North American version is called the Gold Cup. In Europe it is called the Euros. In Africa it is called the African Cup of Nations.

To celebrate the 100th year though, they are doing a combined tournament.

It wouldn't shock me at all if this became the norm in the future if it is as successful as many expect it to be.

16 teams. No qualifiers (unlike the other regional cups) with 10 South American and 6 concacaf (Mexico, US, Costa Rica and Jamaica plus two play ins)

Tournament has always been mishmash with changes in the number of teams and interval often.
Should be awesome

Which means they'll be bringing in a temporary grass surface for the CLink.

Maybe Levi's stadium will get temporary grass too

So avoid Brazil, Mexico and Argentina but will draw one of Colombia, Chile, Ecuador and Uruguay... If you want to advance please be Ecuador (they are solid, but not in the same level as the others). If you want to see the USMNT against amazing International talent please draw one of the other three.

Pots 3 and 4 are mostly blah... but those first two groups are loaded with elite soccer players.

That could have gone better....

Drew the top team from each pot, basically.

Haiti vs Peru? That is going to be a snoozefest of epic proportions.

Upside is if you want to go, I am guessing you will have no problem finding cheap tickets.
