They raised a 24 flag on the Space Needle today and it had me wondering how many fans around Seattle are going to assume it's in honor of Lynch's return to practice and the post season when in fact it's to honor former Mariner Ken Griffey Jr.'s nomination into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Sure LOOKS confusing.

Perhaps to millenials.

Perhaps in a few years we also see 51 on a first ballot.

Not so fast...My Gen X wife walked in the room as they were raising the flag on the news and asked why they were raising a flag for Marshawn Lynch, LOL. (Admittedly not much of a baseball fan, nor am I).

Someone already mentioned Lynch on the KOMO twitter post about this when it happened, erroneously.

The only things Lofa is missing from a HoF career is a about 7 more years on his career, 4 or 5 All Pro nods, several hundred more tackles, a dozen or so more INTs, and a Super Bowl ring.

Other than that, I don't see why not.

it's really weird to see some seattle fans not familiar with what Griffey meant to this city. Mariners would have moved without him

Man im getting old

I still have my Griffey t-shirt preserved complete with beer smells and Kingdog remnants.

I agree. The Mariners franchise might not been in Seattle if not for Griffey. Very cool to see the M's retire his number organization wide.

You may want to brush up a bit on what qualifies as a millenial so you don't look so stupid.
