Saw this story on Sportscenter this morning, really really sad.

Doesn't it seem like it's 2016 and the airplane technology should be to the point where this stuff doesn't happen anymore? Guess we'll have to wait a while to see what the issues were, but damn this is tragic.

I wonder what would happen if something like this happened to an NFL team? I guess they'd probably do some kind of expansion draft where all the other teams get to protect a certain amount of guys from their roster and the others are fair game. Hopefully we never have to find out.

All of the major US sports or supposed to have a contingency plan in place.
Most consist of a draft like you mentioned with teams only being able to protect a small handful of players.

A very tragic incident. :(

Very very sad indeed. The players families, the fans it just sucks all around.
