  • So, UEFA and FIFA have come up with this new international football competition that takes the place of regular friendlies that UEFA teams would normally play in September, October, and November and augments the current qualification process for the European Championship. All 55 UEFA teams are split into four leagues, A-D. Teams can win promotion from a lower league to a higher one, or be relegated if they do poorly. Anyway, they held their inaugural draw today. The leagues and groups are below. The first games will be on 8 September, 2018.

  • Two months after the world cup and during the beginning of league play? I don't see these nations putting their best players out for these games.

  • Thanks for finding this. I totally forgot about it.

    So far France has rolled out a team that looks just like there WC winning side. Looks like all the teams are running out their A side for this competition. That can only be good for the fans.

  • It's mixed for the fans. Most these players haven't even returned to full fitness for league games and now they are right back at it for international duty.

    Like the idea but they should've started at the next break.

    Some teams have looked very flat and they are pushing hard to get fitness levels back.
