Ugh, can't stand the Astros. That was unbelievable.

That kind of idiocy reminds me of when Norichika Aoki let a routine fly ball bounce right in front of him in left field. There was two outs and the Ms had a multi run lead. That blunder sparked a Brewers comeback win.

Kid had a great spring, and has already connected on some good hits. Much better than last season.

  • Marco got off to a rough start but settled down a bit, surprised to see him taken out so early but I understand. I just don't see what is so great about him. His stuff looks so average, if he can't command his pitches he isn't going to be around long.

  • Ouch. That game hurts. Especially with the Astros and Angels looking like goliaths at the moment. This is exactly what happens when your team is built around shoddy pitching and streaky hitting.

  • Much better outing. Felix with 6+ strong. Segura almost goes for the cycle. 8-3 win. Diaz even pitched a strong inning in non-save situation. Needed the work. Seagar doubled, but that's about it.

  • Motter isn't doing well, but I disagree with Servais to pinch hit Vogelbach for Motter right there. Worst case scenario with bases loaded and 1 out is a double play. What happened? Vogelbach grounds into a double play on first pitch. In that situation you don't want a guy who's a slow runner at the plate. Why Servais, why? What happened to small ball?

Nicasio just got out of a huge jam. Nice.

Seager with a huge homer. Diaz with the save. 6-4 first 10 games...i'll take it.

Yeah, Motter is really struggling. Picking up right where he left of last season. It's a shame. Good to see Nicasio work out of a big jam. He's had somewhat of a rough but start, so it was good for him to keep things in check. I really hope Servais will start to use LeBlanc more though. And Seager seems to be heating up! Good stuff

I know you guys are joking, but we'll know a lot more by the end of next week. If we can hold serve against the Astros, we'll have a shot.

Actually if the mariners can get healthy and stay healthy and the starting pitching is ok, I think playoffs are a good chance.

I guessed them around 90 wins if that happened.

Haha, I hear you. Any series against the pesky 'Stros can be enough to make you hate Mariners baseball if you let it.

Aside from two of the four losses, this team has looked darn good. The bats can still be streaky and the rotation is still suspect, and hearing that Miranda will most likely be called up until little squatty returns is not assuring one bit. But if the pitching can find a way to rise to the occasion and the bats can hit consistently like they should be able to, they'll be in the playoff hunt in September.

  • Great game last night. Leake wasn't his best, but did enough to keep us in the game. Seager is really heating up, might be the hottest hitter on the team right now. Nice to see Vogelbach get his first major league home run.

Lets see what Gonzalez can do tonight, I have my doubts about him. I'm confident in Paxton and Leake, but really don't know what to expect with the other two starting pitchers.

Yeah, and much of it on the road. Will be a good early test. Schedule-wise, we hit the jackpot this year, though. No travel east of the Mississippi after the All Star break.

  • Worst challenge I've ever seen. Instead of giving up one run and out of the inning, Servais leaves two men in scoring position and their best hitters coming up. And cost Gonzalez 15 extra pitches. Nice way to give Oakland some momentum. It should be 5-1 now.

Yep, hits for average, cheetah on the bases, loves to torture the pitchers. Looking like a real "straw that stirs the drink" kind of guy.

And with Dee and Segura leading off, lots more opportunities for our 3-5 guys with men on base. Maybe DiPoto isn't an idiot.

The idea was to have Gonzalez get the next batter out to keep the 3-0 lead. Yeah it backfired but I don't think it was that bad of a challenge

M's announcer: hjdkasbdfkjhasbfajhk @DanielVogelbach goes OVER the Hit It Here Café for a solo shot. That was PUNISHED.

A's announcer: Pagan gives up another homer vs. his former team, this time it's Vogelbach. 10-7 Mariners lead. They've hit four HRs tonight.

  • Yeah, this is the problem with offense vs defense. Felix is throwing a gem, 2 runs, a few hits, and 7 Ks through 6.

The offense hasn't figured Manaea out yet. 2 hits. At least we got a Motter homer and hair flip. Just like old times, Felix pitches a gem and the offense stays home.

  • Felix is having one of his best outings but no run support.

Also, who do we send down when everyone gets healthy? Zunino, Gamel and Healy should all be back soon. I'd assume one of the catchers, and Motter will get sent down, but who will the third be? Ichiro should be that guy, but I doubt the team will do that. I'm sure Ichiro was given some kind of assurance when he signed that he wouldn't be demoted or cut.

It looked like a tie to me, and there isn't really a "tie goes to the runner" rule in the book. Not definitive enough to overturn.

I'm not so sure it would have changed much. An extra out right there might have enabled us to push another run over, but the M's weren't hitting anything today.

Hell, I think the bogus balk call on Felix earlier was a worse call. Felix had the guy picked off and the umps forced a redo.

  • Umps cost the mariners. I know the hitting was locked up but some bad calls changes the game.

The fake balk. It rattled felix. If that doesn't happen it might be a 1-0 win. Dee was safe.
