  • An interesting mid-season for the blazers...making small moves to incrementally improve the team.

    Enes Kanter

After the mutual and amicable separation from the Knicks, Enes Kanter said he chose the Trail Blazers .......

    Rodney Hood

Trail Blazers' Rodney Hood: Scores 14 points in dubut

    https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/basketball/news/trail-blazers-rodney-hood-scores-14-points-in-dubut/

Two good offensive players with length that dont break the bank.
Enes was a buyout from the Knicks and so cost very little. It does make the Blazers very more interesting to not have any drop off when Nurcik takes a breather. Maybe they can also both take the floor for spot minutes. Enes is a premeir offensive rebounder-one of the best and this helps the Blazers who seem weak in that area.

Hood has blended well so far. His offense is smooth. We traded peanuts for him.

Vs the Brooklyn Nets tonight at 4:30.

Im setting the over and under on guys who just open this thread and not read it to say they hate the NBA at 8+-

  • Interesting salary decisions coming up.........I mean you have to keep Layman, Hood, Kanter.

    C.J. McCollum 27 SG Bird $25,759,766 - - ($82,800,000) $25,759,766 19.46
    Evan Turner 29 SF Cap Space $17,868,852 - - ($36,475,409) $17,868,852 13.50
    Jusuf Nurkic 24 C Bird $11,111,111 - - ($40,000,000) $11,111,111 8.40
    Maurice Harkless 25 SF Bird $10,337,079 - $500,000 ($21,348,315) $10,837,079 8.19
    Meyers Leonard 26 C Bird $10,595,506 - - ($21,882,022) $10,595,506 8.01
    Al-Farouq Aminu 28 PF Cap Space $6,957,105 - - ($6,957,105) $6,957,105 5.26
    Zach Collins 20 C Rookie $3,628,920 - - ($7,869,120) $3,628,920 2.74
    Rodney Hood 25 SG $3,472,887 - - ($3,472,887) $3,472,887 2.62
    Seth Curry 28 SG MLE $2,795,000 - - ($2,795,000) $2,795,000 2.11
    Anfernee Simons 19 SG Rookie $1,835,520 - - ($3,985,080) $1,835,520 1.39
    Skal Labissiere 22 PF Rookie $1,544,951 - - ($3,883,798) $1,544,951 1.17
    Jake Layman 24 SF Cap Space $1,544,951 - - ($1,544,951) $1,544,951 1.17
    Gary Trent Jr. 19 SG MLE $838,464 - - ($3,919,177) $838,464 0.63
    Enes Kanter 26 C Minimum $653,556 - - ($487,109) $487,109 0.37

Trimming the fat could resign Kanter with Curry, Aminu, Harkless, Leonard and Turner your looking at 48.5 million dollars laying around.....basically wasted.

  • Blazers secure the third seed using only the bench players. They trailed by thirty at one point and Denver had to win for that to happen. Now the Blazers draw OKC the former Sonics in the first round.

  • Yeah I was surprised they chose to rest Lillard and McCollum last night. I was thinking they might prefer to face Utah than OKC. Obviously that wasn’t the case with that comeback. Securing the three seed is huge because not only do you avoid GS til the conference finals, but they will likely get Denver in the next round, and they have struggled the past couple weeks.

  • the blazers are gonna have to dig deep to make this a respectable series even with home court advantage. It could be said the Blazers are a much deeper team this year, but contending with two superstars will be a tall order.

Still if there was a season with no Lebron or Jordan or Shaq in the west....this would be it.

  • It's nice being able to root for Kanter. He was the dreaded enemy for many years, everytime OKC took the court.
