It could happen, it’s called March Madness for a reason. People talk about Duke as unstoppable which they aren’t. They are still young and struggle from the perimeter. All it takes is one game for them to get bounced.

Can it happen? Of course it can. The question is WILL it happen? I just don’t see Duke losing prior to the final four. Besides having the best player in college basketball they also have a lot of talent around him. Combine that with an all time great coach and it’s an extremely tough combination to beat.

They should face Michigan State in the Elite 8. That will be as tough a game as the semifinals or final.

No disrespect to Michigan St but they still have to get past a pretty good LSU team and I still don’t see them taking out a healthy Duke team. Of course I will admit a bias towards Duke but I do believe when healthy they are the best in the NCAA right now.

With all that said the saying That’s why they play the games is as true for this tournament as any event in sports and that’s why it’s so much fun too watch

  • Yeah i dont think msu will win.. just that they are as strong as any potential final four candidates

This is Dukes tourney to win in my estimation. Just a step up from the others. After that, theres 6 or so teams all at about the same level.

The great basketball equalizer 3 pointers are falling well for them today but Duke will finish strong just like the first half.

  • Wow! Probably the best game so far.

UCF had so many chances. They even got the call on whether the ball hit the rim. If they convert that alley pop go go up six they probably win. Coach K all class after the game.

UCF played a hell of a game. Dawkins was nearly unstoppable. They definitely should walk out with their heads held high.

Yep, that would have been ball game. Missing the free throw and getting the rebound was obviously huge as well.

  • Anyone else wondering why Tacko never just played straight up?
He never really ever put his arms straight up the entire game. Nor did he do so in their first game.
I find it odd he was never taught that as it would be plenty effective at his height and alleviate his foul problems.

  • I see there's only one perfect bracket left in the online-verse. According to that Bracket, the final will be Gonzaga vs. Kentucky with Gonzaga winning it all. Honestly I don't see this becoming the first ever perfect NCAA March Madness Bracket, but time will tell.

I like Auburn and Florida State as upsets. Texas Tech and LSU are underdogs but not sure id say theyre upsets if they win.

    Duke is a lock.

  • Zags will smack Florida St, huge revenge game. I think the line says it all, Zags are favored by 7.5 in that game. Also think Purdue beats Tennessee. Michigan against Tech could go either way, those teams are very similar. Should be a slow grind it out type of game. Oregon's run ends, lot of people unimpressed with UVA, but that's how they play. Don't be surprised if they win the championship.

On Friday I think Michigan State, UNC and Duke all win. Don't think the Duke game will be as easy as people think. VTech is really good, think it could be similar to the UCF game where they pull out the win late. I want UK to win because I have them in my final four, but not sure I see them getting there without PJ Washington. Still think they can get by Houston.

All the games should be great. Tourney has been all chalk so far. ESPN had an article saying that it's the first time since the field expanded to 64 that all 16 betting favorites won in the round of 32. But with chalk, you get the the best teams playing each other, which should be a lot of fun.

  • I like MSU over LSU a lot and I also think Virginia beats Oregon.
I think Houston has a great shot to upset Kentucky.

Edit: I don't think Auburn has any chance against UNC unless they just shoot lights out from three.
I know they can do that but I think UNC wins that game pretty easy.

  • Definitely was a foul by Auburn at the end. Looks like they did screw up on the no call double dribble, but nobody would have known that unless they went back and mentioned it.

Pearl was very dumb for giving those two fouls at the end. Just because you have a couple fouls to give, doesn't mean you have to use them. They gave the first foul way too early with like 7 seconds left with the guy not even in the front court. The next foul they gave (on the play of the missed double dribble) bailed Jerome out, he was going to throw up a 40 foot shot, instead they got it side out which allowed them to win the game.

Yep, I don't know why the controversy on the 3 pointer. It was a foul. You could maybe argue whether it should be a foul, but that gets called 10 out of 10 times during a game.

But the double dribble no-call was ridiculous.

UVA had no business being in the title game and winning it.

  • His jersey was grabbed before the double dribble, and it wasn't called either. So it's either a defensive foul, or ignore both and 'let them play'.
