As a former Flight Engineer on C-5's this accident really hits home. I had former C-5 crew members who went to the C-17 program so my thoughts and prayers do go out to the crewmembers of this accident and to my old friends who I hope weren't on it.
Flying is a risky business, and is one of the things that as aircrew we train for every possilbe tragic senerio that can be thrown at us. What ever brought this aircraft down, I am sure the crew did every possible thing they could to get it on the ground safely. Sometimes that just isnt enough.
RIP my USAF aircrew brothers/sisters your sacrafice will not be forgotten.
