  • I was excited about Passenger until I read some advances reviewers I trust implicitly raging against false advertising.

I won't spoil anything, just know that Passenger is NOT being marketed truthfully. The studio is portraying the movie as something it's not in all the trailers.

I smell a new Shack thread..............who's the hottest blue chick.

Cause there's also the chick from Avatar, Smurfette (for the weirdos), chick from Mass Effect.........wasn't there one in the Lucas prequels too if I remember?

  • Wow, that Rotten Tomatoes rating depresses me. I had high hopes for this.

  • My wife, who has no interest in Sci-fi whatsoever, surprisingly expressed interest in seeing this film. I had no idea what it was, googled it, read it up on Wiki, who virtually gave the whole bloody plot away. I read too far.

Since you've now learned the hard lesson that Wikipedia straight-up gives you the plot, go back and read it again every once in a while. People are constantly tweaking those synopses; you learn new details that way.

Your wife was interested because of what I stated above, the studio marketed Passengers as some sort of sci-fi love story...........when it's not.

Probably has something to do with the low Rotten Tomato scores, some people are feeling duped.

Without spoilers and in like one or two sentences, can you point us in the right direction? I like Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, so I'm going to see it regardless, but I'd prefer to go into it with a better idea of what to expect.

  • Saw it the other night, I thought it was good. Not great, but good; and certainly not deserving of the 29% it has from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Can't really be done. The duping is a major plot point that colors the rest of the film.
