  • AV Club did a list of their favorite one hit wonders. It's a terrible list, What's Up by 4 Non Blondes makes me want to ram knitting needles into my ear drums to make it stop.

But it's a fun question, what is your favorite one hit wonder?

    My favorites are probably.

Bi Markie - Just a Friend

Peter Murphy - Cuts You Up

    Steal My Sunshine - Len

Standing Outside something something title is way too long - Primitive Radio Gods

  • This is one Album, Montrose was Kick ass, They never achieved iconic Status though, mostly due to internal conflicts looking at you Sammy Hagar, along with no heavy push from their Label, this was Sammy's pretty much Break Through moment.

History now looks back and see's this was a kick ass album.

Hey, Warren Zeven isn't a one hit wonder, at least to me! I've got eight albums of his. He also wrote songs that others made into hits, including "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me" and "Hasten Down the Wind" which Linda Ronstadt did. I could not possibly name a favourite song of Warren's - maybe "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner."

But I guess you're right - to most folks, "Werewolves of London" is indeed the only song of his they know, and I guess the single sold vastly more than any others of his.

I'll have fun thinking up my list of favourite One Hit Wonders, while I sand cupboard doors for painting. I wish I knew how to "embed" video clips here: please, are there any instructions somewhere?

James isn't really a one hit wonder either, had a cult following. I was going by what is in red based on the criteria I assumed based on the original post.

It's all about chart success, and Laid was Jame's only hit, at least state side.

Good songs guys, keep em coming.

  • All not the type of music I normally like, but for whatever reasons I liked these songs. I also just realized I am pretty susceptible to one hit wonders from music types I would normally not like, because there is only one song posted so far in this thread that I don't enjoy listening to.

  • Sophie B. Hawkins has had three different singles on the Billboard Top 100 from two different albums; that's not a one-hit wonder artist by any definition of the phrase that I've seen.

My apologies, like I said none of those were the type of music I would typically listen to. I couldn't remember ever hearing anything else by her and heard that song all the time.
