  • Who plays? I've been playing it since summer, and I'm somewhat addicted. Extremely fun shooter - FINALLY, something that is all about skill, and not a stupid gear grind or just based on the fastest possible twitch reaction times.

  • Ive been playing it for about a week or so. I found by reducing the sensitivity from 5 to 2 it plays and shoots a whole lot better.

  • I've thought about checking out Fortnite, but honestly, the cartoony graphics are kind of a turn-off for me. I don't need, or even care, about having amazing graphics - but cartoony is a whole different thing for me.

Does it have ranking built into it like PUBG does? That's a big part of the appeal, for me - I have a pretty serious competitive streak in me, and I like to play to win.

  • I’ll probably get it this summer for Xbox, though I imagine like most shooters, it would be much better on a PC. I’m kinda just waiting out most of the bugs before I buy.

  • Playing a shooter on a console gives me cancer. I don't know how you guys do it. I've watched some Xbox play and how many people play the game is literally different because there's far less risk of being killed by players with great aim than on PC, lol. Like people driving around in circles in tiny circles right near the end, you try that on PC you'll get insta-gibbed every time.

Fortnite does have ranks in game as well as a site you can look up overall rating, global rank etc. It also so much better optimized and runs smoother than pubg probably ever will. That being said, i prefer pubg. For all its faults (poor optimization, rampant hacking, gun balancing) its gunplay and feel is the best out of all the BRs imo.

Although Hunt Showdown is a TON of fun as well.

Totally agree with the sentiment, PUBG is the worst BR in terms of performance since ARMA3 BR and I still think it's the best experience out of all of them.

I'm pretty jealous you got in on Hunt Showdown. Looks like some Dark Tower/Van Helsing/Escape from Tarkov goodness. I've been checking my email daily for a key haha.

Finest ass armor money can buy!

For the record, PUBG performs a lot better now than it did a few months ago. They've been improving performance regularly, my average FPS on the same settings just keeps going up.

It does have rankings for each (solo, duo, squad) plus individual stats. I'd say solo is the most competitive if you can hold your own unless you've got a good crew to play squads with, queuing those modes by yourself is a nightmare. Often times you get DC'd teammates or they just do their own thing across the map. Rounds get pretty tense towards the end. I like the building aspect as well, makes standoffs interesting since most of the world is destructible. Some people have made some really impressive skyforts, lol.

Cartoony graphics is hit or miss. Kind of an Overwatch vibe but I think it looks pretty good overall. Certainly has some damage balancing issues (random one shots) and I'm pretty sure there's a fair amount of hackers though PUBG has those too. I say try it out, it's free to play and skill curve isn't too bad until you deal with the top players who master headshots. Game queues are very fast, I've played on PS4 and PC, both play about the same though PC aim as always feel a bit smoother.

I don't think you need to worry about my ability to handle elite competition in solo play. I was playing competitively, haven't had the time for it lately, but you can see where I was ranked a month ago out of over 5,000,000 solo FPP players. 8)

  • So I started playing PUBG mobile after a couple friends told me about it. It’s a little difficult to master the controls with the touchscreen but it’s stll fun. I won the first solo I played and was feeling pretty good about it until one of my friends told me that the game sets you up against bots for your first ten matches to determine your skill level. I’m well beyond ten matches now and still win occasionally.

I really like arcade mode. If I have 15 minutes to spare I can hop on and play a couple of matches.

I hear Fortnite seems to be the more popular game but my phone can’t run it and I currently don’t have WiFi so it’ll be a while before I check it out.

If you have issues aiming in PUBG, the fault does not lie with the game, Fender.

  • Just started playing recently after it went 1.0 (January?) and having a blast despite all of the technical flaws. Just wish they had a 'test range' where you can play with weapon and attachment combos to get used to all of the possible handling and recoil characteristics.

Have about half a dozen chicken dinners solo so far (FPP) and a handful in squads but don't have many people to play with. My buddy and I have been struggling to get one in duos for months.
