  • I think the release date of the film has to be by 12/31 to be considered for the Oscar....................so if Bale isn't nominated then why didn't the studio for Hostiles release it sooner is the question to be asked.

But then again, not a good social climate to expect an actor in a violent western to be nominated.

Looking at the competition, they probably figured it was better to delay and go on next year's card. Studios often do that with end of year releases. This year's Oscars looks like a pretty high bar.

It's all political.............but most of all it's about the Benjamins. I'm sure the studio for Hostiles wanted it to be released in January rather than compete with the holiday movies, especially if they didn't think it was Oscar worthy to take the risk of a holiday release.

  • I never worry about anything but the movie itself and the acting. People get way too caught up in hating someone for this and that. Bale is one hell of an actor.
