  • I've been watching a lot of reruns of this of late (I have seen the entire series when it hit DVD a few years ago), and this always seemed to spark debate. Just curious about general opinions.

  • The Movie was fanatastic and started it all, but the peak that crashed the Networks was the last episode, it may still hold the record for most viewers right in front of I Love Lucy having a baby.

  • I'm pretty sure 'peaked', when used here, refers not to quantifiable numbers of watchers but unquantifiable 'best quality of the show'.

  • For me, I think it lost a lot of it’s shine the last few seasons but I refuse to vote because it had nothing to do with Radar who I enjoyed tremendously on the show

I don't think Radar leaving changed the show, I just used casting changes as a basis for the evolution of the show in the poll.

Sorry if my smart assness didn't come through. I was just stirring the pot a bit because the poll choice I had would make it seem like I didn't like radar.

I really did enjoy the show both when I watched as a kid and repeats as an adult, but the last season especially just lost a lot of the humor from the show IMO. Still overall, I still enjoy watching them from time to time. Great show overall.

  • Thought when the McClean Stevenson was killed the show kind of died down as it was very rare at the time to kill the lead actor there and stunned the audience.

Alan Alda was the lead, not McLean Stevenson. That's why McLean Stevenson left.

  • Slightly off topic, but the book that the movie and show was based on it the funniest book I've ever read
