  • Indeed sad to hear of his passing. As Aros/Todd said above, he's reunited with Barbara; must be beyond horrible to lose someone you've been married to for so very many years.

    Given modern medicine, I would think this record will be broken on a pretty regular basis. Where does Carter stand?

    I didn't pay much attention (when Reagan died I went to the Capitol), but read W.'s comment about how when Barbara died, H.W. was strong, even though all he wanted to do was hold her hand again. Sent me bawling and almost did it again as I typed this.

    Carter will pass Bush in 4 months. They were both born in 1924, Bush just a bit older.

    Something kind of weird in terms of presidential birthdates, BTW, but Trump is less than a month older than W, and W is less than 2 months older than Clinton. All born in 1946.
