  • Jericho...it was kind of a bit toned down being on cable but I loved the premise. 2nd american civil wR starts and the series is cancelled. Was some talk a few years back that netflix wanted to reboot it. A darker tone with more money thrown at it may have been what it needed. What would you like to see back on tv? Mash should not be on that list lol

  • The Bridge, such a great show. Yet stupid lame reality tv crap stays on the air
Also, The Killing was a great show that should have continued.

Totally agree on The Bridge, totally disagree on The Killing.

They did try to continue The Killing when Netflix bought the production rights, and it was the worse season of all four, and killed the show. Great idea for a show, but like a lot of shows, after the first season they don't know how to continue the story.

Terriers is a show I was super bummed when it got cancelled. Really smart buddy cop drama on FX, and it got cancelled after one season. Had a lot of humor and potential, I wish FX would have stuck with it.

Firefly is another show that didn't get a fair shake.

Ha, this is what I thought of right away when I saw the title of the thread. I would love a Jericho reboot. My wife introduced me to it. She really liked the first season and was less into the second season.

It wasn't cancelled. It was only planned for 26 episodes. That's pretty common in anime.

That is one of the first that came to mind for me. Excellent, quirky show. I can see why it might not have been great on network TV but somewhere like Netflix could rock with a show like that.

Red Dwarf was never officially cancelled, and they've made a special and 3 new series (british equivalent of seasons) in the last ten years, for a total of 21 new episodes. The most recent series aired in 2017.

That's a Syfy network show. Unfortunately, it got canceled despite it's popularity because very few people watched it on the network. A similar thing happened with their big budget drama The Expanse. It got canceled despite being one of the highest rated and most popular shows in the networks history. The Expanse got picked up and renewed by Amazon, so one can only hope someone does the same for Dark Matter.

    Great show.

Agreed it was a great show but something happened before the finale where
you saw the end (a delay?)
I thought the ending was not their best but they never killed off Vic so maybe someday.
The creator of the Shield made another series "Sons Of Anarchy" some of the
same actors from the shield appear in that series also..I loved that show too.

  • Hannibal on NBC. Sounds like they have season 4 ready to go, just need a network.

The Leftovers wasn't cancelled but given a shortened final season after an amazing second season, wish they were allowed to keep the story going a bit longer.

Community is a case where coming back maybe was a mistake. After losing Chevy Chase and Donald Glover in season 5 (for completely different reasons), plus the Russo brothers leaving at end of season 3 for Captain America and then go on to crush both Avengers movies, the show never really found its stride again. Season 6 on short lived Yahoo TV felt like a different show entirely. Never upset to get more Alison Brie and Gillian Jacobs tho.

Dan Harmon said a year or so after cancellation that Donald Glover's departure killed the show.

    https://screencrush.com/dan-harmon-donald-glover-killed-community/

I honestly think it could have survived without Chevy Chase, but Troy was integral to how the group behaved and Glover's style was one of a kind and something that couldn't be replaced. That show was going to die the minute Troy or Abed left, because they were it's soul.
