FINALLY......THE TABS HAS COME BACK TO SEAHAWKS.NET!!!!!!!!!!

    Ah, that felt good!

A close second all-time favorite moment was constantly explaining why Matt Hasselbeck was an average quarterback. It's been so much fun watching Russell Wilson validate everything I said about him. Wilson hasn't even finished his rookie season, and he's already the best QB in franchise history.

It's great to be back posting again.

Ah shit... there goes the neighborhood. :34853_doh: Time to shut the place down...

Judging by the lack of response TABS has received in this thread, we don't have too many old timers reading this thread. Had to do a double take. What's next? Steve Harper? Not surprising that TABS favorite .Net moments are himself telling people things. ;)

You know, that really is a great idea, all the struggles, the legal stuff with the NFL, the transition from host to host, the in board conflicts with many of our more famous members and those that have went on to become contributors to the big media circus, the huge personalities and not to forget the steady participation of members that kept the faith and this place going over the years, finally the selling to Rockhawk and the handoff.

I think it would be a great read and actually a great story, someone might even want to publish it.

You created something that is so rare right now, a non sponsored Message board nationally recognized and go to resource for information and stories, it's not affiliated with the NFL much to their chagrin and not for lack or trying.

As best I recall, he was letting his anger during games get the best of him to the point where he was reacting negatively to his kid, and he had to make some changes regarding how much Seahawks exposure he let himself have.

He said he needed to step away from the site and just breathe.

Another poster who is too cool for school is Rotak; but he's being an adult right now and working and traveling the word. Kids these days... I haven't seen him on .Net in a couple of years too.

  • I do miss the fun of the old days, Whatsyurprob answering his own posts as Lovejoy, The Tabs being Kearly before Kearly. Doug Defarre getting in pissing contests in the open forums. Seahawk2k responding to someone in such a way that they walked away looking like they had just been flayed. Good times, if you posted something in accurate or stupid you better have rawhide skin because it would be sliced diced and had bar b que sauce thrown on it by everyone.

We all get older and the rules change, but it was fun at the time and we were there first, or many of us anyway, you know who you are.

Just think back and remember the AOL login tone :)

  • I too miss Rotak. Nice kid...but he's all grown up now. He's still on FB but hasn't posted much in the last year. Kid knew his football though. Got to watch a few away games with him back in the days when folks would get together and do that. Usually it was pe who would put it together. These days I usually watch an away game or two with Riley, but that's about all. That's also how I met Dr Diags, Ben the beer man, Riley, L80, and a bunch of others.

Shark; man, the dude was having such medical problems...I hope he's still hangin' in there.

Another one I miss is Ribeye. Remember him? He always had the latest news.

Warner28 was a piece of work. The only one I can remember who wrote posts that were longer than Kearly's. Always got in the last word. LOL! IIRC: He lived and taught in Bend, Or. Coached JHS football and thought he knew it all.

Sorry Absolute doesn't post much anymore. The man knew his football and especially line schemes. Don't see Techworlds around much anymore either. Hope he and Jen are ok.

Hey Zeb: Ya gonna do anyother PDX game? Or maybe a Vancouver one?

    I was wondering about him.

Met him and his wife a few times at Temple's. Good people.

If I remember right. He was the first one to get the "Class Act Hawk Fan" moniker.

He moved up by Bellingham to start his own business.

  • Now that I think about it, and to take nothing away from Mark & Neal, the thing I miss most is the sense of community we used to have here. Oh, it's still a community but not like it used to be. But of course when you go from 2 thousand members to 10 thousand you're gonna lose some things.

The story that sticks in my head is when one of our members was going to visit his grandmother in Boise...was it NorCal? or maybe Sac? Well he asked if anyone knew a good place to watch the game. Hawkboi jumps in and says, 'Yeah, come to my house.' So he did and while watching the game he asks if they know of someone who could install handrails in his grandma's bathtub. 'Sure' says Hawkboi and after the game and with his son Brian they all go over to grandma's house and install the handrails. True story...or something like it...my memory isn't quite what it used to be.

Now while we still ask advice here and receive advice here, how often do we hear of folks inviting other members into their homes to watch a game? Or volunteering to fix grandma's bathtub, gratis?

HoustonHawk has a front door and a back door at his house, steps lead up to both doors, and on either side of those steps, there is a set of handrails.

Have you ever heard the story of the day that HH and I met?

This place really isn't all that different than the place that I've heard described.
Sure, some screen names have changed but the bonds and friendships are still available if we choose to accept them.

I've had people that I only know by a few lines of text, offer me a room should I ever be passing through their town, and I'd be happy to offer you one should you ever be down my way. I've had people send me "12"flags, and I've sent tokens as well.

Is the place really all that different, or is it the way we perceive it?
Fact is, it's our house ( belongs to us all), it is what we make it.

Least that's how I choose to see it.
    YMMV :{)
