  • Main forum pretty busy right now so will put this here for those interested.

St Lukes Rehab was going to allow the wife out Thanksgiving Day for dinner with friends but now are saying they have done about all they can do and the rest will come to her over the next couple of months.

So one day less than 2 weeks from brain surgery she is coming home. Amazing isn't it?

And HAPPY THANKSGIVING for us for sure.

  • And to make it a really memorable day our furnace went out, heat exchanger bad which means its toast unless we can get the the original manufacturer to replace it tho even the n we'd have to pay the installation.

Which means it might be cheaper to buy a new furnace.

Wife was whining about bad luck but I explained its just life, on we go and get the next card later.

Seems to me the surgery she just had being non cancerous, and probably not costing us a nickel is pretty good luck.

This??? just the same bump in the road all other people have to go through.

Thank goodness our friends the Abbotts, friends from school daze had already invited us. Darlene had been told she could furlough for Thanksgiving dinner. So its the same old same, but we get to go home rather than back across town.

I do cook, tho never have done a turkey in the oven. Done several on the BBQ.

We normally put our turkey in about midnight at 225degrees and let it cook all night. Moist and delicious.

Kay is a great cook but her turkey gravey tho good is not Darlene's. And only one person in the entire universe makes as good pumpkin pie and pie crust. That person was my Mother who gave her pie crust receipe to my wife.
