Wife and I are heading out to Curacao in May and it will be our first time in the non-Mexican Caribbean.

What are your favorite hidden spots?

We're staying at the Kura Hulanda if anyone has been there.

For me it's probably Cuba, although I haven't been there so how the Hell would I know?

For now it is the Corn Islands, Nicaragua.

I would love to visit Cuba. Feels sorta like I've been there already with the amount of research I've done on it. Sadly, the Caribbean is almost the last place on Earth to have eluded me.

Never been anywhere truly exotic besides Hawaii...Would love to go to the Caribbean or any place that features sand as white as snow and water that is turquoise.

But favorite spots (although no longer hidden or that far from me) is Sedona, AZ, Vancouver BC, Cannon Beach OR and the Orcas Islands.

Would love to go to Cuba too. Not for the beaches though.

I'm not much of a beach, tropical type guy. Been to Hawaii a few times and several places in Mexico and to Key West, and while I enjoy them they'll never be my favorite.

My favorites are places like the Kenai, Alaska. Yellowstone National Park area. Denali National Park. The Everglades. Outdoorsy, exploring type places.

Also the kid in me still loves the theme parks: Disneyland, the whole Orlando area, Six Flags Parks, Zoo's things like that.

Hanging out on a beach is just about the last thing I want to do on a vacation.

One of the reasons we're going to Curacao is because of how fantastically undisturbed much of it is. The resort were staying it is 35 minutes from the closest grocery store, 15 minutes from the closest hotel or restaurant. Renting a jeep while were there to explore as much as possible.

I do love Yellowstone, Denali and the Everglades. Haven't made it up to Alaska but that's about the only place I think a cruise sounds worthwhile. Although I do have a friend in Dutch Harbor... hmm.

One of my favorite trips from my childhood was following the Columbia from the mouth to it's headwater in Columbia Lake. 2 weeks of navigating dirt roads to stay as close to the river as possible.

It appears I may be going to the Dominican Republic in early March.

I will let you know.
