Yes, this is really a bill, sponsored by CA Dem Barbara Lee. To create another department of the U.S. government tasked with everything from finding ways to scale back U.S. military actions to ending bullying at schools. Or to create more legislation, spending, and duplication of effort. Way to go, Barbara!

Well...there used to be a war department and now we have the DOD and Pentagon, why not have something dedicated to higher ideals?

You're just assuming it's duplicating efforts when in fact it probably is addressing issues that aren't being paid attention to.

Government should probably be a bunch of very small, focused departments instead of several large unfocused.

I don't think Democrats, especially California Democrats, and certainly female California Democrats, should even be allowed to participate in government, let alone sponsor bills. Yeesh.
