Roland, you know you can seek refuge and comfort in THE LORD, right?

I hear there's an app on iTunes for that.

Hehe. Well, not to be in your face about this, but surely you know that Christianity has a built-in "share me" clause that pretty much ensures evangelism efforts will continue. Not to mention, as you also know well, that we believe we have the spiritual equivalent of the cure for cancer. If you had the cure for cancer, it'd be demented evil for you to NOT share it, wouldn't it?

Believe it or not, Montana, I've actually read the entire King James Bible. Did it when I was 14ish, going through the aforementioned turning-into-an-agnostic phase. I know pretty well a lot of what's in there; and how open to interpretation much of it is.

As far as the cure for cancer argument, sure; but that would be a real thing. That happens. Is in existence. Is proven. Christianity is none of those things.

What is preventing you from revisiting the bible today to see if there is anything you missed when you were 14?

Don't really care about folks practicing their religion, whatever it may be. Don't get too worked up about players praying, thanking God, pointing at the sky or whatever.

Where I draw the line is legislative action design to convert religious doctrine into law that I am forced to follow, and substituting religious beliefs for science and trying to ram that into the public school curriculum.

That's definitely a :141847_bnono: in my book.

Ok, have you ever read the KJV Bible? If you had, you'd know why I find the prospect of re-reading it to be painful. As Montana said...Ick.

If your intention is to derive reading entertainment then you are reading the wrong book. If your intention is to seek wisdom, that is different altogether and you are in the right book.

So, you can't get wisdom from say... the Bhagavad Gita instead?

Getting wisdom from the bible is like getting legal advice from a carrot.

Well, carrots tend to lead by example, so I think mostly they're saying to take the 5th, which I think often times is very sound legal advice, really.

See, I can't be a total Republican shill, I like abortion and think it should be used more, and I have contempt for religion in general. ;)

Religion is like an old pair of underwear. Eventually, it develops so many holes that it tears under the weight of its own shit. People en masse are jumping ship, getting away from organized religion, seeing it for the complete sham it is. I am ok with the current (read: declining) state of religiousness in the USA.
