  • That just sent chills down my spine. Hearing the call, I could only imagine the call with Raible dubbed over. The coolest thing is in the endzone with pretty much the whole offense celebrating, including #8 Matty H.

  • I liked Lynch's dive into the endzone lol!

Then we he pushes Porter: "Get off me fool! I'm on Beast Mode!"

  • That moment, right there, captures the essence of the Seahawks, and to a much larger extent, the Seattle FAN's pain and struggle....in every sport, we are always being pushed around, we are always and have always been the SOFT team....well, right there, that stiffarm was for all of SEATTLE........he said "get OFF me, Tracy Porter", but what he really said was "get OFF me, EAST COAST BIAS!", "Get OFF me, NFL!", and "GET OFF ME, STENCH OF LOSING!!!!"

  • I love watching this run, it never gets old, even after like 50th time!

it even trumps that Adrian Peterson's insane run where he plows through a Steelers D back, runs to the sideline and roars like a lion ).

  • My favorite part was that Lynch kept his skills and technique in check by switching the ball over from his left arm to his right to avoid any shot they may have tried to take at a strip. SUPER AWESOME.

  • I just can't put it into words. Lynch has been Superman to the Hawks. He works harder than anyone, I swear, every play the guy has 4 tacklers on him to bring him down, trying to stop the pile. Every play, I can hardly see him under all the guys as the pile is moving and he just gets up and does it again. No Diva stuff, no crying over carries none of that. Totally credits others for his success and just appears to be a solid team member. I was thinking all of that BEFORE the run. Marshawn Lynch, now we know what "Beast Mode" is. In Seattle we have NEVER had a RB that had that much desire to create contact and worked that had. It is quite a treat to say the least.

    thank you Mr. Lynch

That single move is what makes takes this run over the top. It is an act that is shockingly violent in an often shockingly violent sport. That one NFL caliber player in todays day and age could actually do that to another one is simply staggering. "Get OFF me!!!, he says"

Ranks right up there with Walter Jones tossing Mike Rucker around like a rag doll for 20 yards in the NFCCG as one of the singular most impressive things I've ever seen on a football field.

"The Crowd is SILENT now"
Tue Jan 11, 2011 11:09 am
  • I was watching "THE RUN" again and found that this play was destin for greatness when the announcer said, "THE CROWD IS SILENT NOW" (of course the rest of it is: vs when the Saints have the ball)

But, as a Seahawks fan, I thought as long as I'm alive I'd NEVER hear those words associated with the 12th man! EVER......................

  • I thought that comment showed how in tune the whole crowd was with the game. This was after last call on beer too, mind you, so even after the massive final consumption of hooch, the fans still knew when to cheer and when to not. Often at Oregon State football games this last season (I know, huge stretch to compare Beaver crowd to a Qwest field crowd) the Beaver fans would still try to be as loud as possible even when the offense was on the field... leaving me and another friend (who also posts on this board) shaking our heads.

Panel 1: Matt to Marshawn: "Marshawn, we need you to ice this game"!
Panel 2: Marshawn: "BEAST MODE, I choose you!"
Panel 3: [Porter landing on his ass]

  • Just watched it yet again; only this time I "analized" it (first 20 time I watched it going "OMG OMG OMG!").

You'll notice one of the main keys to the whole thing is Mike Robinson surgically removing Jonathan Vilma from the play. He hits him square in the hole and peels him out and bowls him into... you guessed it... Roman Harper (who was being blocked quite well by Obo at the time). Fullback took two defenders who were in a great position to make the stop completely out of that play.

Fancy that... the most epic run in franchise history is run out of a boring old "Offset I" formation and depended on a key block from the fullback. Mack Strong would be proud. :)
