Might be my new favorite Tarantino flick. And i'm someone who loves almost all his movies. Pretty violent and bloody and tough to watch a few scenes after some of the shooting news lately, but a great, entertaining movie.

I saw it last night. Great movie and Tarantino put together another excellent soundtrack.
I about stood up like I was at a revival meeting when this classic started playing:
Using Jim Croce was great for setting that 70's spaghetti western tone and 100 Black Coffins is a pure, badass song.

I loved the movie and I agree about the soundtrack. The violence didn't bother me as it was campy like only QT can provide in his flicks.

Saw this last night and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Although, the movie was short on the classic Tarantino epic dialogue, which is one of the things I really love about his movies, it was still satisfying. I didn't realize until later that the movie wasn't written by QT, only directed by him. I guess that would explain the dialogue thing.

I agree that the dialogue wasnt as snappy as the usual Tarantino (i think part of that is just the subject matter... as it doesnt allow for a whole lot of slow, dialogue fueled scenes), but I really did like the dentist charachter and thought his role was really well written. There were also several one liners that i'll be repeating for years.
Jamie Foxx was perfect for Django. I can't imagine anybody else in that role. Maybe a young Denzel.

Can't wait to see this. I probably won't get to though until it is out on DVD since we have nobody to watch the kids so we can go see it, lol.
I had heard somewhere that Tarantino wrote the main part for Will Smith but he turned it down because of the content and Jamie Foxx was the second choice. He was a great second choice because it seems like he did a great job. He's a very good actor.

I just saw it...credits at the end of the movie said QT was writer and director. Not sure where you got the idea he didn't write it.
Anyway, gratuitously bloody, but a good movie nonetheless. Well casted throughout.
Not a huge QT fanboi but I laughed, I cringed and I liked the acting and plot.

I must have misread the credits wrong when I went to see it. It was written by Tarantino. Weird. It didn't really feel like it was.

This was my favorite movie of the year. There were some incredibly awkward/uncomfortable moments but I still left the movie theater incredibly satisfied.

Really? I thought "Summer of Sam" was a pretty good flick. A tad too long, but still good.

It's good. Not the best Tarantino, or even the second or third best, but still good. Quite a lot of anachronisms and historical inaccuracies, but it's not meant to be accurate, it's meant to entertain. Anyone going to this movie expecting some powerful message will be deeply disappointed. Tarantino is never about sending a message, despite what the more pretentious moviegoers might tell you.
It's very violent, and pretty disturbing in places, but as is the norm, Tarantino uses those moments to build towards the end of the movie. Great performance from all involved. Christoph Waltz is just phenomenal, Jamie Foxx is fantastic and even Di Caprio is convincing and puts in a good performance. The humor is pretty decenly spaced and is not presented with very stark contrast to the main plot or the action going on, the scenes themselves are all very good. Worth a look.
