Love the pick... LOVE IT...

I would be disappointed if that was their first round pick, same with the second round pick. I prefer the 2nd and 3rd round WR's and Im not sure the Oline is a need.

Not a fan of the pick personally. How does this guy fit into our offensive scheme without needing to create package plays?

If we're not going defense to improve the pass rush then I think they've got to try and find a bigger target.

Either one of those picks would make me homicidal.

Rather take Marquise Goodwin 2-3 rounds later.

Em's earned enough collateral through being right (he said the Hawks would be legit if Wilson started.....after the draft). So, he's sold me on the round #1 pick - if he think's it'd work on Sundays - it'll work on Sundays.

The 2nd round pick? I just dont see it. Their position coach is SO strong there, it just wont happen.

Love the Ravens pick. The Bengals one has made sense for awhile (obviously).

In the second, if Ziggy's still on the board, the Hawks could seemingly roll the dice and trade up a bit.

Kyle Long will likely be a guard rather then a tackle.

I think he's going to be a great NFL linemen eventually. He's more athletic then either his dad or his brother (i would bet that he'll be the number 1 o'linemen athletically at the comibine). That said, i wouldnt LOVE the pick for the Seahawks there, although I certainly wouldnt be upset by it either.

I still don't feel like we need a 1st round receiver...

Personally, I would have gone with Floyd instead of Austin. I like Austin's college tape, a lot, but I think Floyd is a better fit for this team at DT than Austin is at WR. Honestly, Hopkins is probably the only WR I'd take in round 1.

During a year with far fewer WR options, during a year without a critical need on the DL, during a year when Seattle's roster isn't too crunched to allow for even more specialist players, I'd really like Tavon Austin for Seattle. That said, I think Seattle will instead draft a slightly taller Tavon Austin in the 5th round named Denard Robinson. Robinson is years away from being even close to Austin as a WR, but as a RB he might already be better and both will feature similar versatility in the NFL.

I like Tavon. I just don't want him. I see him as a final piece kid of thing, and we simply aren't there yet.

The offense is at the final piece phase. So far along it could carry the team to a Lombardi, IMO.

I want a big body tough hands catcher, a tight end/h-back who can outrun Willis, and then a speedster. I feel like our offense has too many zone beaters who don't just simply win man matchups. Our QB buying time is the center of our pass attack right now. I would like that to just be a nice extra. Keenan Allen/Hopkins could be that guy.

Tavon in the third doesn't bother me. Tavon in the first does.
And Long? I think that guy will still be on the board in the 4th. Juco ball, one year at Oregon where he almost never was 3 point. Some off field stuff. Bloodlines aside, Long seems like a stretch, especially considering Clemons injury.

I feel like Em's draftboard is going to have some big adjustments anyway, and i expect his next mock will reflect some senior bowl information anyway.

It sounds like we're thinking the same thing on offense, but via different positions. Because you're a size queen, you want the offense to grow via TE/H-Back, me via the "waterbug" (assist to kobebryant) position.

I look at the Saints as the model here. They find big pass-catchers under beads or after hurricane clean-ups. They’re apparently not difficult to find. What they covet and invest in is the waterbug (assist to kobebryant) position...Bush/Sproles. That position spreads things out for Brees a bit, and Wilson needs that, if the offense is to advance appropriately.

Long? Yeah, not happening.

You are probably right. We had some great plays with Turbin and Lynch in space catching the ball, but neither of them looks real natural getting into space or catching. A speed guy like Tavon could do that. I still wonder why we don't use Washington to do that more, though.

I think Rice is a bit soft, and I hate that Golden spends too much time down the sidelines and not enough in the flats. Miller is a blocking beast and catches the ball nicely, and knows how to find space, but is just too slow doing it, and McCoy is a glacial route runner, not a space finder.

Right now, I covet Vance McDonald from Rice. Chiseled a little like Gronk, with long arms and big hands, he was just killing safeties and linebackers down field at the Senior bowl. He was making really tough catches, and dropped a couple of easy ones.

Part of my bias is I want my little QB to have big targets. I don't even know if that makes real sense.

Got to agree with Scotte here. PC has clearly been looking for a big, dynamic target (Marshall, Jackson, BMW... even trying T.O. and Edwards). It's still a missing feature on the offense.

You're making my point. Pete's chosen to fill that need via the Ross WR NFL Clearence bin. While's he's invested in the opposite.

Jackson and Marshall we're pre-Rice covets.
