Max Unger.

He was a solid-average center in 2011 with below average run blocking grades from Pro Football Focus. This season his run blocking grades shot through the roof, he was graded one of the top 3 centers in the league overall by PFF, and he was elected a Pro Bowl starter.

First player that came to mind.

The Big Russian was the most improved player imo

He graded out as one of the worst tackles. Like really really bad

My vote would be Tate or Unger. Sherman was good last year but really made the jump to elite this season.

THIS

We had concerns Unger was a draft bust, he was All-Pro this year and didn't allow a single sack.

Okoung played great this year. Maybe not most improved per se, but 76 made a huge impact this year.

I'd say it's a 3 way tie between Tate, Sherman and Browner.

You can see improvement from Sherm and Browner throughout last year, but Sherman is a completely different player this year than last year. He's literally in a different league.

Browner also improved last year. He had better pass defensed and INT stats last year, but that is because QBs threw at him a lot. This year, he literally just erased guys. He Asumogha'd them. The WRs would be so far off of their routes or timing that QBs didn't even attempt to go that way, and when they did, Browner had tight coverage.

Tate's improvement was obvious.

The other 2 guys that improved most from start to finish of the year: Wilson and Wagner. Those guys just had a steady climb of progression that was amazing.

His first half of the season was pretty bad but the 2nd half he became a really good run blocker. His pass blocking is pretty good, he man handled Aldon Smith but Jake Long owns Giacomini.
